The Costume Party

Meet your hosts: invitations are open to explore. Contest submissions are not open yet. Entry dates and the participation token amount will be announced here before submissions open.

Choose your party

Each party is a separate entry category. Any character can attend. Choose the party that fits the card you want to make: both its artwork and its opening scenario should revolve around that party's theme.

PartyHostBring to the party
CuteBanbanCute artwork and a cute scenario
CursedAndinelleAn eerie atmosphere in both the art and scenario
After DarkThe TwinsAdult artwork and a scenario clearly intended for the After Dark category

If your card fits more than one theme, you choose which party it enters. Choosing a party does not replace the card's content rating or safety tags. All entries must follow the Community Guidelines.

Halloween is optional

Your card can take place anywhere that fits its party's theme. Halloween settings and costumes are optional.

You'll earn bonus consideration when the artwork and opening scenario feature the character wearing a costume or an outfit they would not usually wear, or when the card takes place on or near Hallows Eve.

Enter through your card

Keep building in the character editor you already use. When submissions open, the contest invitation will be available in Special and during publishing. You'll choose the party for the specific card or variant you are entering.

An ordinary tag alone should not be treated as confirmation that your entry was submitted. Check the contest entry's confirmation and selected party when invitations open.

Entry limit and variants

You can submit a maximum of three entries per person across the entire contest. Each submitted card or alternate variant counts as one entry. The limit is shared across Cute, Cursed, and After Dark.

Want the same character to attend another party? Use the existing alternate variant system. Give that variant artwork that clearly shows the character in different clothes and a different outfit, then create a different situation or scenario around the party it will attend.

Choose a party for each variant individually. Three variants count as three entries, even when they belong to the same character. Reusing the same character does not give extra entry slots.

Give people more to play with

Cards that thoughtfully use RoleCall's card-making systems receive extra consideration. Build those features into the experience:

  • Props: meaningful objects and details players can interact with.
  • BunnyMo tie-ins: connections that bring BunnyMo into your party and fit its theme.
  • Custom tracker starters: ready-to-use trackers that help players begin, such as faction tracking, party goals, or unfolding mysteries.
  • Lorebooks and compendiums: characters, places, traditions, and secrets that give the setting depth.
  • Regexes: useful formatting and touches that support play.

The bonus is for features that meaningfully support the card and its party theme. Adding extras just to fill a checklist does not earn the same consideration. You do not need to use every system.

How entries are considered

Make the theme clear in both the artwork and the scenario. Give other players an opening they can jump into. Optional Halloween touches and thoughtfully integrated card systems receive the bonus consideration described above.

The final judging process and any public voting arrangements will be announced before entries open. Likes or discovery placement should not be treated as a published contest score.

Participation rewards

Every eligible participant will receive a token reward. The amount, token pool, eligibility requirements, and delivery timing are being finalized and will be announced before submissions open.

The participation reward is intended to thank creators for taking part. Winner prizes are separate.
